A little bit about me

I am happy to be starting my 19th year with St. Thomas School. I began in the library and moved into the lab back in 2000. I completed my Masters in Education from Boise State in Educational Technology. Both my children have graduated from St. Thomas. Amanda graduated from St. Norbert's in DePere, WI , where she met her husband Jim Krzyzak,and is teaching music at Legee Element arty. They are expecting their first child this November. Anthony graduated from University of Dayton in December 2010 also with a music education degree. He is a member of the Crystal Lake Strikers and the drum-line instructor at Crystal Lake Central High School.
In addition to teaching technology, my husband of 32 years and I create a production for the students in grades 5-8 which is presented at the Raue Center in downtown Crystal Lake. This year's theme is a concert involving all students. Each grade will have a choreographed production number for an auditioned danced ensemble. Eight Grade dance will include all 8th grade students. Students will rehearse the music during music classes. I will work with Mr. Dragoo and Mr. Roach for all group movements and song selections. In addition to small dance ensemble auditions, there will be a very small cast of speaking roles to narrate the concert.
I believe that technology should not be a substitute for traditional education but should be used to compliment and expand upon what is being taught in the classroom. Technology should be used to take education further into the future.
